 Thrifting Friday.
Everything about Friday was lovely. It started out by picking up some 1950's vintage wooden baby wall ornaments that I won in a local thrift shop auction and ended with a drunken game of Monopoly with our neighbour Mike. I spent the majority of my day running errands with my momma. I picked up my 1960's cat eye frames that I've had on layaway since January (Now I just need to have my eyes checked) I had a fantastic Rebar salad lunch courtesy of my momma after I picked up these adorable pink bow wedges at Value Village. There were some amazing things at VV on Friday but due to my lack of money for spending on "things" I only purchased these shoes. I did find a pair of beige suede Lita's by Jeffery Campbell with a light wooden heel in my size but I can't fall into that trend. Plus, why would I want to stand a towering 6'2 over everyone else (except Cyrus, he'll always be my giant)

This whole weekend has been insanely hot so upon arrival to my house I changed into this printed 1970's maxi dress and immediately cooled down; I had been wearing all black and jeans. My mother took these photo's so she didn't give me any time to not have it candid. She doesn't tell you when she's about to take it and I could hardly see her because of the sun blazing my face. I think I was trying to explain the rule of thirds to her in this particular shot. I will also add that I gave us both a much needed pedicure.
Momma wanted to take a detailed shot of my dress and jewelry. I guess there's no better time then now to list my outfit details.
Vintage maxi dress: Thrifted in Vancouver BC
Vintage Gold/Cream/Brown necklace: Thrifted @ Value Village
Gold Bangles: Purchased in Greece, Vancouver and Victoria
Antique Gold and Jade ring: Thrifted @ Value Village
Vintage Silver/Cat Eye ring: Purchased @ Hunter Gatherer
1960's Ruby/Diamond engagement ring: Gift from Cyrus' mother Catherine

The one thing I don't love about hot weather is what it does to your hair. I had no choice but to have it natural and up. There would be no point in spending the time to straighten it when I know it would be fluffy within a few hours. ALSO, how do women wear any make-up besides mascara in the heat? I would sweat it all off instantly...sexy, I know.
