The child that is born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

Today was our friend Brittany's son's 5th Birthday! I've only known Felix and Brittany for just under a year but they've been involved in Ben and Cyrus's life forever. You could say Ben and Felix are the best  of friends. Brittany's one of the best moms I've ever encountered and she's a really rad women with a lot of love for her child. Needless to say, the Birthday Party was a smash.

1. Ben is totally excited for the party- look at that face!! So adorable.

2. Once all the kids had arrived it became incredibly hard to capture a steady shot so I decided to roll with the motion. This is Ben trying to catch Felix's helium balloon.

3. The balloon lost it's string and the game quickly changed to "who can get the balloon without using an adult as an aid" - No one won and we distracted them with the Piñata.

4. I love this shot of Ben and Frankie, she's a sweetheart.

5. The epic battle begins.

6. Death Star piñata.

7. Felix is first in the attempt to destroy the Death Star and get the candy that is hiding inside of it.

8. Ben is third in the attempt and had the best strike at it. We should probably consider putting him into baseball this summer for fun, he would we great at it.

 9. Brittany helps Frankie when it's her turn because the bat was far too heavy for such a sweet little peach. I wish this shot was more in focus because she ended up being the one to break the Death Star and send the candy flying everywhere!

10. Felix's Star Wars Lego birthday cake!

11. The wee ones enjoying some birthday cake after we all sang to Felix. The cake was quite delicious (I totally would have had a Miranda moment from Sex And The City if that cake had to stay in my fridge)

12. We are back home and Ben is tuckered right out. Too much sugar and physical exertion calls for some down time on the couch with his new favourite show Adventure Time. Today was a win and there was not one meltdown. SUCCESS.

13. Now for an outfit shot because I did claim this was going to be a "fashion" blog but I think its going to end up being more of a "lifestyle" blog that occasionally has full outfit posts when I can find the time and vanity to have my own photo shoot. I've never been to a child's Birthday Party and wasn't entirely sure what we were going to be doing so I dressed in my usual casual attire and threw on some lipstick.
